No longer a stranger to chilli lovers, those seeking a thrill and a challenge to their palates to experience that ‘pain sensation’ flock over to Chilli Rush for their chicken wings.
Serving chicken wings coated in various levels of spiciness is sure an amusement and excitement to many.
Located at Jaya One, Chilli Rush is just literally opposite of The Bee. Head towards The Bee and you are bound to see it. Chilli Rush opened its doors to the public since 2011 and is still standing strong thanks to their ‘spicy chicken wing craze’ loyal fans.
Ala-Carte meals before the wings.
Chilli Cheese Burger (RM22.90). In house juicy beef patty with pickles, onion relish, garden salad and a coating of favorite level sauce. The beef patty was thick and well done but could do with a little bit more of seasoning. Greens were fresh, and gNOMe 1 went with Level 7 ‘Very Spicy’ sauce. The fries could do with some tweaking, it was rather cold and mushy and ordinary.
Cheesy Spinach Pasta (RM17.90). Spaghetti served with delectable cheese sauce infused with dense spinach cream and garlic. The portion was rather too little for the price. In short, not a value for money. And furthermore, the pasta was just rather decent, with just very meager hint of cheese and spinach. 😦
Ayam Percik with Nasi Bojari and Acar (RM18.90). A local comfort food. BBQ-ed chicken marinated in Malaysian style with a combination of local herbs and spices served with nasi bojari and home made acar. The chicken was marinated well, and the sauce was rather palatable. Nasi Bojari was equally yummy, acar was rather appetizing too. Overall, this dish was palatable and indeed value for money. 🙂
Now, why spend money and gorge yourselves on spicy food which will cause one to imbibe glasses and glasses of water?
THAT’S BECAUSE OF THE ADRENALINE RUSH! 🙂
A long list of ‘hot stuff‘ with their SHU (Scoville Heat Units).
Chilli Rush Chicken Wings Level 7 – Very Spicy (RM17.50 for 1/2 dozen). 6 pieces of flaming wings coated with a secret blend of eastern and western secret sauce that is sure to make one cringe. It comes with cucumber and carrots strips dunked in mayonnaise sauce to cool the heat. The chicken wings were cooked thoroughly, but what matters most is which level can one go! 😉
Verdict : If you are heading over for mains, keep to the Asian Cuisines instead. The gNOMes unanimously voted that the asian cuisines fare better than the western ones. Think you have a tongue and stomach of steel? Go for Level 10 instead! The gNOMes loved Chicken Wings Level 10 but left them teary eyed and with rhinnorrhea later on! 😛
