Pickle & Fig, TTDI

On a quieter street in the bustling TTDI lies a humble café that is already acquainted to many. Be there either just for the coffee or for the mains, Pickle & Fig is the place to be should one would love to just have a quiet meal, chill and unwind.

With a rather rustic feel decoration of cement grey walls, yellow lighting, wooden tables and chairs and a rather huge chalkboard menu, patrons usually flock to Pickle & Fig for their comfort food.

A huge chalkboard menu ranging from panini to salads and to pastas.

[Left] Goji Me (RM12); [Right] Blue Healer (RM10)

Two smoothies, dairy smoothie on the left and non dairy smoothie on the right. A refreshing yet tasty concoction of Strawberry, Goji, Apple, Pineapple and Yoghurt which makes up the base for Goji Me. A blend of Blueberry, Blackberry, Banana and Apple meanwhile brings one the soothing Blue Healer. A glass of power packed berry juice for one’s cravings.

While waiting for food to be served, or over coffee, diners can indulge in a variety of old school board & card games to pass time. We love Politiko and Jenga!

Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese (RM19)

Smoked salmon with capers, chives cream cheese, lemon tarragen mayo and greens on focaccia bread. One can never go wrong with smoked salmon. The salmon tasted fresh and everything else worked well together to form a really tasty starting sandwich.

Salami & Basil Pesto (RM17)

Beef salami with basil pesto, mozzarella and butter spread on wholemeal or white bread. Although bail pesto sauce isn’t exactly our favorite, but the cheesiness and nice peppery taste of the salami made this panini sandwich one to die for!

Rotkraut Pastrami (RM19)

Beef pastrami topped with a layer of rotkraut, mozzarella, russian dressing and infused oil on wholemeal or white bread. This panini was the winner of the day. Everything from the pastrami to the rotkraut, and the brilliant thick layer of cheese, all of it was perfect. The seasoning was really good and made the gNOMes very, very happy indeed!

Verdict : Great drinks and great food. The sandwiches here, especially of the panini range, are to die for. The coffee is great as well. If you have company, and they love their sandwiches and board games, seriously just come here! 😀
