Las Vacas, Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, KLCC

Sunday afternoons are best spent either lazing around, indulging in a good book over a cup of tea or gorging yourself silly over freshly barbecued meats.

At Las Vacas, one can indulge on unlimited servings of freshly barbecued Australian steaks and New Zealand lamb with plethora of traditional and contemporary sides and accompaniment while listening to live jazz performances. This BBQ buffet spread is only available at Las Vacas Mont Kiara and Las Vacas Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, KLCC. Do also note that the jazz performances are only available at the Yap Kwan Seng branch.

So now, both Spicy Sharon and gNOMe 2 head over to Las Vacas at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng to try out their hearty, MEATY Sunday BBQ brunch.

At the entrance of Las Vacas, a waft of barbecued meat is surely to greet patrons. Now who’s drooling for a platter of nicely barbecued meats and sides? And Las Vacas has a Kid Section for them to keep your kids entertained while you dine in peace.

The Las Vacas buffet themed Sunday BBQ brunch offers a scrumptious spread of gourmet western dishes ranging from ALL YOU CAN M-EAT Australian steaks and New Zealand lamb freshly BBQ-ed on a grill to beef and chicken sausages, cold cuts, antipasti, pasta, eggs, fruits and desserts for sides!

Sandwiches and Mini Beef Burger to kickstart the meal!

Brought your children along? They would probably love to feast on the cereals with fresh milk. Or perhaps, make them a toast spread.

Desserts to seal the day.

gNOMe 2’s platter. A mixture of scrambled eggs, mini omelette, mix mushrooms, grilled eggplants, spaghetti bolognese, Australian beef steak and New Zealand BBQ-ed lamb.

Hits      : Spaghetti Bolognese – nicely done, flavourful and yummy

New Zealand BBQ-ed Lamb – nicely grilled, tender, juicy and properly marinated

Misses : Australian Beef Steak – overcooked, too gamey and chewy

Scrambled Eggs + Mini Omelette – could do with extra seasoning

Fruits and dessert platter. Fresh fruits, Blueberry Cheese Tarts, Fruit Tarts, Berry Flavoured Yoghurt, Chocolate Muffin.

Hits      : Fresh Fruits – fresh (duh!) and refreshing

Blueberry Cheese Tarts & Fruit Tarts – filling was cheesy and yummy, but can do with thinner pastry

Misses : Chocolate Muffin – too dry, flaky

Berry Flavoured Yoghurt – warm (yoghurt was left in room temperature instead of submerged in ice bucket)

Verdict : All You Can M-eat Sunday BBQ Brunch is indeed a very interesting and exciting concept. Meat lovers can relish and feed their carnivorous appetite with free flow of lamb and beef steaks. However, gNOMe 2 personally feels that Las Vacas can up their game by bringing in more variety of meats and sides so that patrons may feel that its worth every penny spent. Also, that with a bit of tweaking, Las Vacas can definitely improve their Sunday BBQ Brunch menu, selection and taste wise.
