So, both gNOMes are safely back in PJ, and we are ready for any review that comes in our way! Oh btw, we hope that you gNOMers had a very good time binging over CNY goodies and had a very fruitful gathering with loved ones. 🙂
Lately both gNOMes have been spending a lot, a lot of time at Empire Damansara. A hidden gem, really!, and we love the place for its’ rustic designs. This time round we managed to cafe hop, checking out 2 coffee places at Empire Damansara.
Seven Cups was one of the first coffee joints to open its’ doors here at Empire Damansara. Situated at the ground floor of Heritage Lane, Seven Cups is impossible to miss.
The interior furnishing of Seven Cups is rather minimalistic, yet it gets the job done. Blue colored painted walls, a few pictures thrown in here and there, and simple furnitures to top it all. Less is more they say 😉
Patrons can also enjoy cakes and sweet waffles to pair with the choice of Joe for ones’ tea time.
[Left to Right : Iced White [RM 12.00]; Iced Chocolate [RM 11.00]]
Coffee here is rather decent, though might be slightly acidic for some. The ice chocolate was rather refreshing with a decent amount of chocolate in a cup. 🙂
French Butter & Maple Syrup Waffles [RM 10.00]
Seven Cups’ best seller. Classic waffles out of the hot iron, with a slab of French butter on the side, drizzled with maple syrup. The waffles were nicely done, fragrant batter and not too soggy nor crispy. The Lescure French butter that came with the waffles was just so creamy and buttery. Yums!
Verdict : This place sells alright coffee for the gNOMes, not our favorite because it is slightly on the acidic side, nevertheless the waffles are excellent and fragrant! 🙂

Another coffee joint at Empire Damansara. Epique prides in their custom roasted single origin coffee such as Brazilian Cafe Latte, Mandheling Long Black, Honduras Doppio as well as their locally crafted latte to suit the Malaysian palate.
A team of energetic and enthusiastic baristas and crews are bound to greet you once you step into Epique, carving a smile on ones’ face.
Green coffee beans prior to roasting on the left, and roasted beans on the right.
[Left to Right : White Chocolate Mocha [RM 11.00]; Milo Cafe Latte [RM 10.00]]
The selection of coffees here were mixed for us. The white chocolate mocha was rather forgettable due to it neither being very chocolate-y or being smooth. The Milo Cafe Latte on the other hand had the right amount of sweetness, while not overwhelming in the coffee flavor. Fairly hearty!
[Left to Right : Capuccino [RM 10.00]; Iced Chocolate [RM 12.00]]
The capuccino lacked smoothness and was a little on the acidic side for the gNOMes. As with the milo, the iced chocolate seemed to do pretty well. Not being too sweet. However, one wonders if iced chocolate could be cheaper.
Gula Melaka Banana [RM 12.00]
The best-selling cake in Epique, just behind the Nutella cake. This cake is fairly fragrant, with the walnuts providing a good foil to the Gula Melaka (brown sugar). Although one could do with a little more banana flavor.
Verdict : Overall, not the favorite for the gNOMes, as the coffee selections seem to pale in comparison to the chocolate drinks. The cakes seem to be a popular choice, and are quite filling.
