你好! 😀 Both gNOMes have this undying love for Chinese food, especially the ones where you go to a restaurant and order a whole lot of dishes and just bury your face in them.
And just one week ago, we had one of the best Chinese food PJ has to offer. Okay, to be precise, Peranakan and Chinese fusion cuisine.
Located at Plaza 33, alongside Coliseum, Kampachi and Noble Mansion, lies the humble D’ Cuisine situated on the ground floor. Do take note that D’ Cuisine is located at Plaza 33 and not Jaya 33, though you may opt to park at Jaya 33 and walk over.
D’ Cuisine, as you may guessed it, is a subsidiary of the D Group Restaurant and a sister company of D’ Italiane Kitchen.
While D’ Italiane Kitchen showcases a wide array of Italian food, D’ Cuisine on the other hand flaunt their expertise in Peranakan and Chinese Fusion food. Now, over to the food! 😀

Mommy’s potion is a blend of blueberry, strawberry, raspberry and cream. The potion has a sweet and sourish twang to it due to the combination of 3 types of berries. The drink was indeed refreshing and satisfying to the taste.
The cup of mixed espresso and hot milk came from D’ Cusine’s own boulangerie. The Cappucino was truly delightful, with a touch of great coffee art as well. Smooth and light to the taste, this made a great start to the meal.
Water Chestnut Prawn Roll [RM 19.00]
We started off with the Water Chestnut Prawn Rolls, where fresh, succulent prawns are wrapped in Chinese pastry and then deep fried. Noting that this is a deep fried dish, the gNOMes were particularly surprised that it didn’t turn out too oily. Prawns were fresh, and Chinese pastry was crunchy and fragrant. The whole combination turned out to be delectable, and a recommended starter.
Salted Egg Soft Shell Crab Legs [RM 23.00]
Who doesn’t like salted egg crabs? Okay, perhaps for those watching their cholesterol level! 😛 This deep fried salted eggs coated soft shell crab legs at D’ Cuisine is a MUST ORDER. Fragrant, crunchy and has an explosion of flavours in one bite. The seasoning was fantastic and it wasn’t under-seasoned at all. Who would’ve thought that batter would be that nice to consume?
Thai Stir Fried Noodles [RM 19.00]
Resembling Pad Thai, this dish consists of flat rice noodles stir fried with fish sauce, chicken slices and egg. Simply as it may seem, this dish is beautifully executed. It has the just nice amount of fish sauce (not too salty!) and the notable wok hei which manifested in the texture and the aroma. Squeeze some lime for a sourish hint to complement the whole affair.
Mustard Chicken Chop Set [RM 29.80]
Slow grilled boneless leg of chicken on a bed of D’ Cuisine’s signature ground mustard sauce. The meat was nicely peppered and tender, not losing any of its juiciness. The mustard-based sauce that came with it was the perfect pair for this dish as well. This place seems to do very well in its seasonings.
This dish comes with a bowl of rice, soup of the day and 3 sides. The soup absolutely being a real winner. Nigh MSG-free, the soup was naturally sweet and delish to the tastebuds. A rather fulfilling set we’d say!
Lemongrass Ice Cream Parfait [RM 12.00]
Homemade lemon grass jelly topped with lemon grass ice cream with a dash of lemon juice. Now now, where can one easily find lemon grass ice cream? 🙂 True to it’s name, the ice cream and jelly are richly infused with lemon grass and proved to be very, very refreshing. The dash of lemon was a brilliant touch, giving it a zesty twang. Order this after a heavy meal 🙂
Sticky Date Chocolate Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream [RM 18.00]
Every dessert here at D’ Cuisine including the ice creams are all home made. This dessert is a combination of premium Belgian chocolate and dried dates in steam pudding served with caramelized sauce and topped with a scoop of home made vanilla ice cream.
One would think that this would be a mushy dessert, but we were proven wrong. The proportion of chocolate to dates in this mix was absolutely spot on. Nice and hot, it practically is made to pair perfectly with the vanilla ice-cream.
Verdict : This place has absolutely brilliant cuisine. Practically nothing we had was even remotely bad, and those weren’t even the supposed “signature” dishes. Only thing is that this place is a tad on the pricey side. A good place if one feels like splurging with a guarantee of good quality food.
