Bandits Coffee Bar, Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur

A beautiful Friday morning led both gNOMes to new culinary adventures. We have heard so much about Huckleberry, but we decided to try Bandits first. Likewise, we have heard pretty much about it, so why not?

Located at Bukit Damansara, Bandits is on the same row as Huckleberry, just perhaps 4-5 stores away. Parking may be a nuisance there, so you might want to come earlier than the crowd. We expected a full house, but Bandits was pretty much empty on a Friday afternoon though. :/

Hot Chocolate [RM 10.00]

To be honest, we have had good cuppas of Hot Chocolate. One being from Yellow Brick Road. Thus, our expectations were high. Unfortunately, the Hot Chocolate at Bandits did not stand out. The cuppa was rater diluted, and did not emit the ‘comfort‘ feel that most Hot Chocolates do. 😦 We can’t imagine how diluted it will be if we have ordered the Iced Chocolate. Give this a pass, perhaps?

Linguine with Beef Bacon and Goat Cheese [RM 18.00]

This pasta dish instantly stood out among the rest, thanks to the ‘Goat Cheese’ factor. Linguine was done rather alright, not al dente but not too soft/soggy either, tossed with tomato based sauce with cubes of Goat Cheese and Beef Bacon. Nothing much to shout about about the Beef Bacon, but the Goat Cheese gave an interesting twist to this dish. Yums! Though we would love if the tomato sauce is thicker and not too diluted.

Lamb Sandwich [RM 18.00]

The lamb sandwich was also just alright in our opinion. Nothing really stood out, except the well-seasoned lamb. However it would’ve been better had the cut of lamb been a little bigger in size.

Verdict : A nice little place with a good concept. ‘Han Solo must die!’, they say. However he may still yet live a little longer considering that some of the food and drink items there are a little diluted. The seasoning is something they generally do well, but the gNOMes may not return that soon.

  1. Bandits? Fancy that … I love anything with Goat Cheese inside, I think I would end up just picking up the cheese. Since u say the food is so so, I guess it’s no wonder it was pretty empty when you were there

  2. Ah I’ve been here ! 😀 The first time I didn’t have too good an experience, but the second? They sure made up for it ! Had their pasta, de-li-cious!

  3. It sounds really tempting from what you’ve written but think of it again, this cafe doesnt sounds anything too special for me ;( well everything is worth for a try hehe
