Ahh we guess with that name imprinted on the establishment, one can expect a hearty, porcine meal, eh? 🙂 It has been a while since we paid Lorong Kurau a visit, the last was a food review at Baba Low’s. Pretty surprised to see new F&B outlets popping up within that area, this then yields for more visits to that around! 🙂
Established around half a year ago and located at Lorong Kurau, Bangsar, Pink Belly, without a doubt, specializes in whipping up yummy-licious porky meals. One can always swing by for a hearty breakfast with bacon, ham and sausages or an equally satisfying porky dinner.

One quick look at the menu got all our tummies rumbling, and we really couldn’t wait for the 1st dish to be served. 😀
[Left to Right : The Grand Hornbill – Osmanthius Black [RM 13.00];
The Tapping Tapir – Guava & Lemongrass [RM 13.00]]
Sparkling sodas to start and end the meal. We bet you would have tried the above sodas before.
Porky Penne Pasta [RM 24.00]
Surprisingly, the penne came al dente! Yay to beautifully-cooked pasta. The pasta was cooked with honey ham cubes, smoked bacon and mushroom. Ours came as Aglio Olio, and was absolutely delectable. Not only the pasta was al dente, the addition of smoked bacon and honey ham cubes gave a explosion of taste. Bacon was moist, retaining a subtle smoky flavour coupled with the sweetness from the honey ham cubes. Oh so yums! One can also opt for this pasta to be served with Carbonara or Pesto base.
Grilled Pork Skewers [RM 26.00]
Pan grilled honey glazed pork ball skewers served with buttered basmati rice and roasted vegetables. This unassuming dish literally BLEW US AWAY! From the marination all the way to the texture of the pork balls after pan grilled, we couldn’t find much fault with this dish. The meat was nicely marinated, with an aftermath of heat. If the marination isn’t too spicy for you, they are kind enough to serve you a side serving of the flaming hot sauce. Pork balls were moist, definitely, and weren’t crumbly nor flaky. To the gNOMes, this is a MUST ORDER.
Pink Belly Salad [RM 24.00]
One for the health conscious! If the evening might be a little too ‘meaty‘ for you, this is a good option to ‘alleviate‘ your arteries. A platter of romaine lettuce, purple cabbages, tomatoes, watermelon cubes, lychee, honey ham cubes and smoked bacon bits which is ideal for sharing. Fresh greens with juicy watermelon cubes and lychee, with ham cubes and smoked bacon bits thrown in. At least some greens before all the red 🙂
Roasted Pork Belly [RM 36.00]
A slab of pork belly roasted to crackling perfection served with roasted vegetables and braised purple cabbage. Served with a choice of Honey BBQ, Jalapeno or Original sauce. Ours came with Honey BBQ sauce. No doubt, true to its description, this generous slab of meat was roasted beautifully. Crunchy skin on top, with lean meat and fat alternating one another right below it. Juicy, tender, moist, this while slab of meat was perfectly done. Nevertheless, we felt that we could do without the sauce, as the pork belly on it’s own was good enough. The braised purple cabbage gave the necessary sweetness which complemented the pork belly very well. Totally palatable!
BBQ Sticky Pork Ribs [RM 75.00]
Pork ribs slow cooked with chef’s special sauce, served with wedges and coleslaw. The pork ribs here are served full rack, so it’s definitely ideal for sharing. Ribs done very well, with the meat retaining it’s sweetness and were moist and juicy. The meat, when punctured with a fork, slides off the bone. But who eats pork ribs with knife and fork? The sticky pork ribs were good, though it isn’t the best we have tried.
Porky Risotto [RM 25.00]
A choice of caramelized or original stir fried risotto with pork belly slices, wild mushrooms and vegetables. We were served the caramelized version. Unfortunately, the pork belly slices were drier than expected, and slightly too oily for our liking. Perhaps we will pass on this dish the next visit.
Special Vanilla Ice Cream [RM 15.00]
Double scoop vanilla ice cream topped with whipped cream and strawberry, drizzled with maple syrup and served with pecan nuts, raisins and bacon bits. A sweet ending to a beautiful meal eh? Comforting and hearty vanilla ice cream with sweet maple syrup and saltish bacon bits. Loved it! 🙂
Verdict : Overall a brilliant meal, leaving an aftertaste of immense satisfaction. The gNOMes will be back for another visit in the near future. Order the porky dishes on offer here and you won’t regret.
