Little Thai Kitchen, Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya

Hello Fellow Foodies! It has, indeed, been a while. Sorry for the long hiatus, but now we are back in action! Our CNY holiday was great, we hope you guys had plenty of fun and angpaos too!

Thai food is among gNOMe 2’s favorite food, so when a chance popped up to visit this restaurant here we decided to give it a go!

Located in the closer vicinity of Sunway Giza, Little Thai Kitchen stands as a humble restaurant with a simple sign. Upon entering, the restaurant seems like it does provide quite a wide range of street food, main courses aside.

Hor Mok [RM 3.00]

Similar to otak-otak, this santan and fish-based appetizer had fairly good seasoning, and wasn’t too spicy. The gNOMes’ only gripe was that it wasn’t served steaming hot, as one would expect. Probably, try to request for them to serve it hot?

Pineapple Fried Rice [RM 12.90]

A generic plate of good old fashioned pineapple fried rice. This dish somewhat lacked the “wok hei” required to make it have that satisfying fragrance of fried rice. But overall, it was rather alright.

Steamed Sea Bass in Lime, Garlic and Chilli [RM 36.00 – Small]

Steamed fish with a sour and spicy gravy. This was one of the dishes to come out with credit from today’s meal. The steamed fish was fresh and free of the fishy scent which can ruin a dish. It is worth mentioning that the portion of this dish was pretty generous as well. Loved it!

Tom Yum Seafood Red Chilli Oil [RM 13.90 – Small]

gNOMe 2 loves her tomyum soup red and without santan, so this was the order. Unfortunately what came to us was a fairly diluted version of tomyum soup. This spoiled everything that this soup had worked to become. The gNOMes weren’t big fans of the fish used for this soup either – dory – one best avoided.

Verdict : The gNOMes weren’t big fans of most of what we ordered here. Only the fish came out with any real credit for today. We certainly hope it was an off-day.
